Online Learning: Introduction to Endnote
This online course makes use of Blackboard to develop your skills in using the advanced bibliographic database manager, Endnote. No attendance is necessary and all materials (guides, demonstration videos, introductory presentations) are available online via the web. Support will be available via discussion boards and email.

This is a comprehensive course for this advanced bibliographic database manager, Endnote can help you record, manage and output bibliographic data in a range of formats to suit various journals. Used in conjunction with Microsoft Word you can take advantage of seamless reference citing and bibliography production.
This course is suitable for Endnote 9 and X.

NB: There is Audio Commentary on some of the materials so you will need access to headphones or speakers

The Faculty eLearning Team have put together a Starter Pack for those interested in embarking on the development of eLearning materials. Introduction to Blackboard (formerly 'Kickstart')
This introductory session will demonstrate the new Virtual Learning Environment for the University - Blackboard - and give attendees the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with some of the main features. Please note, scheduled Introduction to Blackboard sessions are now run centrally. However, if you would like to arrange a session for a particular group of staff, please contact elearning@manchester.ac.uk.

eAssessment Surgeries

Are you considering making use of quizzes or surveys in your Blackboard course? Enrolling on this course will give you the opportunity to try out the tools through self-study and at a surgery session where eLearning staff will be on hand to help you.

eCommunications Surgeries

If you’re thinking about enhancing your Blackboard section with communications tools this course will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills and put these into practice. Through a combination of self-study and a supported surgery session you will look at creating and managing traditional discussion boards. There may also be opportunity to look at blogs and journals.

Wrapping Up & Moving on with Blackboard

Come along to one of our Wrapping Up & Moving on sessions to review your current Blackboard courses (structure, content, features/tools). You’ll have an opportunity to refine and make changes in preparation for the next instance of the course. These sessions are being arranged on a school basis. Look out for relevant emails or bulletins detailing when we’ll be visiting your school.

A showcase of interactive e-learning resources to inspire and generate teaching ideas. Examples are from past portfolio case studies and from current resources created for the University. Opportunities to discuss resource ideas with academics, covering interactivities, audio/video and innovative e-learning technologies.
